The physico chemistry in depth from the quarry to the final hydration

Our aim = sell cement

How?

By meeting our

customers’ requirements

Ease of use:

– workability

– lump free powder

– other customer’s requirement

Setting time

Resistance

Long term strength

Lasting quality, shrinkage

Swelling, expansion

Colour

All these characteristics are directly linked to the cement composition

Hence, the importance of knowing the physico chemistry in depth from the quarry to the final hydration

Prerequisites Composition of raw mix  Composition of clinker

At first the raw material coming from the quarry has to be ground

You can add constituents to obtain the composition you require

Composition of raw mix

1st stage: evaporation

2nd stage: dehydration

3rd stage: decarbonation

Loss of ignition

4th stage: clinkerisation

5th stage: cooling

From raw mix to clinker…

Clinker minerals

We can read the temperature on this diagram
