This notebook records results; it does not recalculate or certify engineering formulas. It saves only in this browser. Use a project alias and avoid confidential plant information. Export a backup before clearing browser data.

Worked example: a measured energy ratio
Illustrative data: 2,400 kWh of electrical energy and 100 tonnes of finished product from the same reporting period and defined system boundary.
Specific electrical energy = 2,400 kWh ÷ 100 t = 24 kWh/t.
This arithmetic example records a measured ratio. It is not a Bond work-index calculation, an operating target, or evidence of energy savings. Comparing periods requires matching product and measurement scope.
Need more than a saved calculation?
If your calculation is part of a real equipment, maintenance or procurement requirement, send the technical requirement for RFQ / sourcing review. If you want downloadable engineering toolkits, see the toolkit roadmap.
Free Cement Plant Energy Savings & Simple Payback Estimator
Screen a proposed kiln or grinding improvement using your own clinker-based measured energy data. The numbers preloaded below are illustrative only, not a plant benchmark or a promised result. The calculation stays in your browser.
Enter plant values and select Calculate annual savings.
Open calculation method
Annual production = tonnes/day × operating days/year. Annual heat difference (GJ) = annual tonnes × (baseline SHC − target SHC) (kcal/kg) × 0.004184. Annual power difference (kWh) = annual tonnes × (baseline − target kWh/t). Gross savings = GJ difference × delivered fuel-energy cost + kWh difference × electricity tariff. Net annual savings = gross savings − additional annual operating cost. Simple payback = capital cost ÷ positive net annual savings.
Use limits: Same clinker-production basis and measurement boundary for all comparisons. Electricity per tonne cement cannot be entered directly against clinker tonnes. Negative values in calculated savings mean additional cost. This is an undiscounted screening calculation, not an engineering audit or investment recommendation. It excludes start-up losses, financing, taxation, tariffs, operating risk, equipment constraints, emissions accounting and uncertainty. Verify all figures before plant decisions.
