  1. This type of crack is due to low creep or zero creep of tyre running for long time . And for analysis of crack needs process parameters and mechanical parameters.

  2. Kiln tires flex with each rotation, usually referred to as “ovality”. Tire design flexing or ovality is somewhere around 0.2% of its nominal diameter. E.G a 5 meter diameter tire will flex about .2/100×5000 = 10mm. That would be how much its diameter changes during each rotation. This, over many years of operation, causes fatigue. Then, given a cast tire can have some material flaws in it such as porosity or slag inclusions, often leads to cracking. This is not the only possibility but the most common one.

    1. Kidnly check cold air between tyre and shell in cold condition if there is shim used u can remove that and that depends upon tyre id and shell od

    It cannot be only because of no migration. In case of no migration there shall be more problems in kiln lining and even a damage to kiln shell as Tyre is more strong tban shell. To me it looks as something wrong with the material of Kiln Tyre

  5. many reasons could cause this catastrophic failure
    1. the tire has internal cracks or material problem (crack shape will show this)
    2. the necking with kiln shell due to very low migration below zero
    3. external surface failure and propagate under the cyclic load of tire rotation

    1. Welding Alloys have a wire with similar characteristic of the 2222 XHD, it’s called GAMMA 182. Furthermore it’s a MIG wire, so much more deposition rate than electrode. Welding Alloys has too the experience to weld Kiln tire with dedicated team on site

  6. If the Kiln tire is new means “it’s the tire material fault” or else it’s the operational fault i.e. over heating (more than its design temperature) of the Kiln that leads to expansion of the Kiln leads to crack in the tire.
